Maruki Iri saw firsthand the horror that the atomic bomb inflicted on Hiroshima. He traveled to the city, his hometown, three days after the attack to help deal with the aftermath. His wife Toshi joined soon after, and their experiences inspired a series of powerful artworks known as “the Hiroshima Panels.” Now, fans of the pieces are trying to ensure they get a long life and wide audience.
