The Hiroshima Memorial Event – 75th Anniversary
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are not planning to hold large public events such as lecture and concert. Please bring water and snacks as there will be no food stalls this year. We ask for your cooperation to take these necessary measures to prevent heatstroke in hot weather.
If you wish to participate in the memorial event to float paper lanterns, please contact us from contact form by July 31st.
You can either make your paper lantern at the Gallery or come with a painted Washi paper (Approx. 30x80cm). You will float your own lantern this year.
14:00 | Start making lanterns |
15:50 – 16:00 | Hiroshima Memorial Ceremony |
16:00 – 16:30 | Float the lanterns at Toki River |
* Please check our website prior to the event and make sure that it is held as planned.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we will NOT offer a shuttle bus service between the train station and the Gallery this year. We ask for your understanding and cooperation.

Please note that the Gallery can become very crowded from beginning of August through August 15th. For your safety and health, we may limit the number of people permitted into our premises at times. We ask visitors to keep enough distance between each other inside the Gallery.
